Roti Chakki Atta

Roti Chakki Atta

Everyday Family 21 Roti (Diabetes‑Friendly)

Family 21 Flour can be used anywhere you’d normally use multigrain or millet flour in high‑fiber, lower‑glycemic recipes for people living with diabetes, as long as portions and the rest of the meal are balanced.

Ingredients (4–5 rotis)

  • 1 cup Family 21 Flour

  • Pinch of salt

  • ½–¾ cup warm water (as needed)

  • Optional: 1 tsp oil or yogurt for softness

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix Family 21 Flour and salt.

  2. Add warm water gradually (and oil or yogurt if using) and mix to form a soft dough.

  3. Knead for 5–7 minutes, then cover and rest the dough for 10–15 minutes.

  4. Divide into equal balls and roll each one into a thin roti with a rolling pin.

  5. Cook on a hot tawa or skillet with little or no oil until light brown spots appear on both sides.

Multigrain/millet roti like this are commonly used in diabetic diets because of higher fiber and slower digestion. Always follow your healthcare provider’s advice on portions and overall meal planning
