Masala Roti

Family 21 Masala Roti (Spiced Diabetic Roti)

Ingredients (3–4 rotis)

  • 1 cup Family 21 Flour

  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onion

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

  • ½–1 tsp grated ginger and/or green chili (optional)

  • ¼ tsp cumin seeds or ajwain

  • Salt and chili powder to taste

  • 1 tsp oil

  • Warm water as needed

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, onion, coriander, ginger/chili, cumin/ajwain, salt and chili powder.

  2. Add oil and mix, then add warm water gradually to make a soft dough.

  3. Rest the dough 10–15 minutes.

  4. Divide into balls and pat or roll into medium‑thick rotis.

  5. Cook on a lightly greased tawa until golden spots appear on both sides.

Serve with salad or low‑fat yogurt instead of potatoes or sugary sides to keep the meal diabetes‑friendly
